In May 2001 Choice FM made the decision to network Friday Nite Flavas thus making the show the first to be available on both their FM frequencies as well as all of their digital outputs, the show can know be heard in Leeds, Bristol , Newcastle and Manchester
Friday Nite Flavas has been voted second by the readers of the UK 's first Hip-Hop magazine - Hip Hop Connection a staggering six consecutive times beating stations with 4 times his audience reach - which is no mean feat!

Established in 1992 it has earned the accolade of the most successful monthly club nights promoting the lifestyle and culture that is Hip-Hop.
The success of 'Flava Of Da Month' led to rapid expansion of the production company, and its remit. Numberman Productions created and presented a series of showcases featuring a variety of US artists performing alongside some of the UK 's finest home- grown talent. The British Hip-Hop scene finally got the rare chance to witness live performances from the likes of Big Daddy Kane, The Arsonists, RZA, Pharcyde, Genius, Mad Skillz, Ras Kass, Fabolous, Dead Prez, Masta Ace, Canibus, Sticky Fingaz (Onyx) and The Beatnuts as well as legendary DJ's such as Cash Money (DMC Champion 88), Mister Cee (Hot 97 NYC) Stretch Armstrong and super producer DJ Premier.
Flava Of Da Month is due to commence once again in 2006.

2002 - UK HIP HOP Awards. Receives awards for Contribution to UK Hip Hop and Hip Hop Personality Of The Year
Receives nomination for Best DJ by MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) Awards in 2002 /2000/ and 1999
2000 - Awarded an EMMA (Ethnic Minorities Music Award) for 'Best Presenter on Radio' in the UK .
'99 - DJs at the official Def Jam Records Pre-MOBO Awards Party feat. Method Man, Redman and Jay-Z.
DJs at MOBO 99 Awards Nominations Press Launch, Awards and After Parties.
DJs at the Morgan's Spiced sponsored Sound Presence Tour.
'98 - Voted 'Best UK Hip-Hop Radio DJ' by Blues & Soul Magazine (gaining 54% of overall vote!) - eclipsing national radio stations like Radio 1, KISS FM and Galaxy Radio.
98- DJs at private showcase for Puff Daddy & The Family, which is broadcast, live across Europe by MTV.
'92 - DJ 279 becomes presenter of his own R'n'B show going out late on Saturday nights. However, 'fate' deals DJ 279 a fortunate hand - a week after starting his new R'n'B show, Steve Wren resigns from CHOICE FM's Rap Show which is then promptly placed in the capable hands of 279 who stamps his authority on the show and gives it a complete overhaul- re-naming it 'Friday Nite Flavas' and revising the format. To date it is one of the top 5 rated programmes on the station.
Numberman Productions is launched, as a conduit for organising and promoting the now legendary monthly club night 'Flava of Da Month' at The Borderline in London 's Charing Cross Road . Showcasing the cream of UK talent, the event has been pivotal in propelling the careers of many of today's current UK Rap stars; Phoebe One, Blak Twang and Funky DL, Roots Manuva, MC D
Success follows success and 279 is offered a position in A&R promotions by Mercury Records handling their Hip-Hop and R''n'B roster. As a result of his experience gained from this position, 279 teams up with industry veteran Caroline Peady and they form their own street promotions agency called New Lick Promotions - promoting a diverse range of artists including LL Cool J, Tupac and Tina Turner!
'90 - DJ 279 returns to London . Discovers CHOICE 96.9FM are licensed to broadcast to South London . Although no presenter slots are available, opportunity knocks - DJ 279's unique ability and talent catches the attention of Steve Wren, CHOICE FM's Rap Show host, and he is offered the position of Studio Assistant on the Rap show.
'89 - Forced to quit pirate radio because of the legal clamp down imposed by the government and the radio authorities on pirate radio stations, 279 used this next period in his career to establish contacts in the 'Big Apple', the birthplace of his beloved Hip-Hop.
'87 - DJ 279 'cuts his teeth' on radio establishing himself on a number of pirate radio stations: - presenting shows on Groove FM, Centerforce, CRN and Dance FM to name a few.
