Femme is at the top of her game. Acknowledged as one of the
UK’s leading DJs and authorities on
today’s evolving music scene, her
mission to galvanize her ever-growing global
fan-base with her unlimited passion is impressive.
DJ Femme Fatale first came
to fame in 2001 - launching herself onto
the scene with a residency at London’s
landmark Ministry of Sound Club –
and, with her cutting-edge, high-octane
sets, quickly developed a loyal following.
It’s from this start that the Ministry
of Sound appointed Femme as their Official
Resident Tour DJ, a role she performs today,
along with her own weekly show on Ministry
of Sound TV – alongside legendary
Radio One DJs Pete Tong and Zane Lowe -
which can be watched on any 3G phone.
DJ Femme Fatale’s
appeal is universal, and her incomparable
– and often headline - DJ sets are
loved by thousands of punters around the
globe from: Bermuda to Vienna and Moscow
to Munich. Femme’s musical origins
and tastes are diverse and she’s travelled
the world to in such places as Hong Kong,
Dubai, Bahrain, Portugal, Switzerland and
France. Here in the UK Femme has a monthly
London residency at Fabric’s DTPM.
Femme’s quest: to
bring her groundbreaking, trademark DJ style
to the masses, goes from strength to strength
every year. Since being the first-signed
DJ to present their own show on 1xtra when
it launched in 2002, she’s also enjoyed
numerous guest slots on BBC Radio One, Kiss
100 and MTV Dance. She’s also performed
as guest DJ at numerous PR events including
the Professional Football Awards, the UK’s
Clothes Show and the Monte Carlo Grand Prix.
2005/6 sees a new venture with prominent
drinks brand Bacardi that will see her play
at forthcoming Bacardi B-Bar events around
the UK.
Recognition of DJ Femme
Fatale’s rise to popularity has been
acknowledged her winning several key awards:
‘Best Female DJ’ at the UK People’s
Choice Awards (2004) and ‘Best Radio/Club
DJ’ at the Underground Music Awards
(2003). She’s also strongly supported
by music industry tastemakers and cohorts
alike. For example, she was nominated ‘Best
DJ’ by a panel of record industry
professionals on ‘Underground 2003’,
BB3’s music show presented by Trevor
Nelson; and name-checked on The Street’s
critically acclaimed x album. Additionally,
with her talent, broad-appeal and good looks
to boot, DJ Femme Fatale is a ‘press
darling’ and has enjoyed positive
feature coverage in UK mainstream and specialist
dance press alike from: the Daily Mail,
Marie Claire, Esquire and Maxim to Mixmag,
Sleaze Nation and Touch; as well Italy’s
La Republica.
Testament to DJ Femme Fatale’s
ever-increasing credibility and appeal are
the repeated requests for her to appear
as the featured DJ in various cutting-edge
music videos along with her lucrative two-year
(2002-4) sponsorship deal with sportswear
giant Puma.
Surprisingly enough, Femme
also finds time to produce and record with
various acclaimed artists, and 2005 has
seen her busy in the studio with the likes
of KT Tunstall.
DJ Femme Fatale’s
infectious passion and inimitable style
promises to inspire new fans via the airwaves
and clubs of the world for years to come.
